This House Is Smokin’

One of the pioneering acts of the 1970’s funk-disco movement and the “Brooklyn Sound”, B.T. Express had a run of popular and influential Gold albums between 1974 and 1978, along with crossover pop/R&B/dance hit singles like “Express” (#1), “Give It What You Got” (#5) and their debut and most popular single, “Do It (‘Til You’re Satisfied)” (#1), written by Billy Nichols. The band’s funkified dance grooves contributed to what became the massive disco boom of the late 1970’s. In addition, B.T. Express songs have been sampled by the likes of Snoop Dog, Janet Jackson, Beanie Sigel, Dr. Dre, P. Diddy, Jay Z, Ludacris and Truth Hurts, among others.
